Chemex 3 Cup and 1/2 Moon Filters
The Chemex is a renowned pour-over coffee maker, celebrated for its elegant glass design and thick paper filters that create a clean, smooth, and rich brew by filtering out oils and fine particles. Its iconic glass construction not only adds style but ensures no flavours are imparted, delivering a pure, flavourful coffee that’s free of bitterness or sediment. This stunning brewer is perfect for home use and includes a polished wood collar and leather tie that double up as an insulated handle.
The details

Size: 3-cup
Capacity: 550ml
Filter: Chemex Half Moon single use paper filters (included)
Dimensions: H: 209.5 x Dia: 76mm
Basic Brew Recipe Ratio: 1:16.6
1. Insert a Chemex paper filter into the Chemex and rinse with hot water to remove unwanted paper taste and preheat the brewer. Discard the rinse water without dislodging the Chemex filter paper.
2. Add 30g of medium-coarse ground coffee (see brew ratio guide) to the Chemex, shake gently to level the grounds, place on scales and tare the scales.
3. Boil the kettle and let it sit for 30 seconds, aiming for 90-95°C.
4. Start a timer and pour 60g of hot water over the coffee grounds to bloom, allowing the coffee to degas for 30 seconds.
5. Slowly pour the remaining 440g of water in a circular motion over the coffee, taking about 3 minutes to complete the pour. If you have a gooseneck kettle, use this for more control over your pour.
6. Let the coffee drip through the filter, which should take about 4 minutes from start to finish. Once the dripping slows to a stop, remove the filter. Pour everything into your cup and enjoy.
